Enjoy the history of Lincoln or spend your day shopping in the city followed by a meal in a restaurant or a night on the town. It's all here in Lincolnshire so come and enjoy it.
You can explore the many walking and cycling routes in the surrounding area and even bring your own bicycles, they can be locked safely away in the adjacent buildings. Or maybe just take it easy and enjoy the fantastic views from the garden with its limestone wall made with stone from the long abandoned medieval village of Middle Carlton.
This ancient village was mentioned in the Domesday Book and lay between North and South Carlton. During the 14th century the village was abandoned by its parishioners, who more than likely died from the Black Plague that had struck the city of Lincoln in 1349. A pleasant walk between North and South Carlton passes through the site of Middle Carlton.
